Nigerian Police Launches Operation To Recapture Mubi [Boko Haram]



Nigerian Police Force have been reportedly directed to lead Nigerian army to recapture Mubi, Adamawa State, seized by Boko Haram.

In the course of the strategic campaign the police mobile unit tagged Operation Guerilla was drafted to confront insurgents, attacking and ‘stealing’ the country’s North-East, Leadership reports.

According to the fresh report, the Police Mobile Force (PMF) special anti-terrorist unit, has already reached Marraba Mubi Junction, about 18 kilometres from Mubi to win back the town fallen under the control of Boko Haram terrorists.

The police representatives are allegedly being supported by the troops of the Nigerian army led by a colonel.

Excited residents of Marraba Mubi, Yohanna Gambo and Mallam Sanda Zira, said they saw a detachment of policemen keeping vigil at the junction leading to Mubi and Michika local governments.

“We were surprised to see a handful of mobile policemen because since the fall of Mubi, we never saw a security man.”

Adamawa police could not be reached for official comments on the matter, however a reliable source at the police command confirmed the development.
